FAQ
FREQUENTLY ASKED & ANSWERED QUESTIONS
Q : How can I improve my gas mileage?
Answer
Limit the time you warm up your car to no more than 30 seconds. It is not needed, wastes gas and increases emissions.
The power and handling of a premium German auto makes it an especially enjoyable ride, but aggressive driving (speeding, rapid acceleration, hard braking) can be dangerous and consume fuel rapidly. It can lower your highway gas mileage 33% and city mileage by 10%.
Use overdrive gearing when possible. This allows your vehicles engine speed to decrease resulting in gas savings and reduced wear.
Don't carry unneeded weight which can decrease gas mileage.
Don't use a roof rack unless completely necessary. This can decrease your MPG by 5%.

Q : How do I keep my Mercedes Benz or BMW healthy?
Answer
Use the grade of motor oil recommended by your vehicles manufacturer. Using the wrong lubricant can adversely affect your engine and lower your mileage. Change oil at schedule recommended by manufacturer.
Keep ties properly inflated and aligned to promote proper tire wear and better gas mileage.
Get regular engine tune-ups and vehicle maintenance checks to avoid fuel economy problems due to worn spark plugs, dragging brakes, low transmission fluid and transmission problems.
Replace clogged air filters and improve gas mileage by as much as 10% and protect your engine.
Follow the manufactures maintenance schedule to avoid unneeded repairs and to increase the value of your car.
Q : What is the safest thing to do when my brakes are making noise?
Answer
If you hear a grinding or squealing sound when the brake is applied, you probably need new brake shoes or pads. Brakes should not make any noise when they operate. Even if the problem turns out to be minor, the only safe assumption is this one: noisy brakes are unsafe brakes. Postponing service is unsafe and could raise the cost of repairs later. If your brakes are making noise get them inspected immediately.
Q : How do I tell if my coolant is good and why I should care?
Answer
It is impossible to determine the condition of the coolant in the radiator just by looking at it. Coolant, a mixture of ethylene glycol and water, breaks down with age, picks up contaminants that cause sludge, and becomes acidic. When this happens, it can cause corrosion within the radiator and cooling passages of the engine. To determine its condition, coolant must be checked for PH balance. Coolant is an environmentally hazardous substance. Our technicians have the special tools and procedures for testing, changing and disposing of coolant effectively.
Q : How do I find the correct tire pressure for me Mercedes Benz or BMW?
Answer
The correct tire pressure for a vehicle is determined by the size and weight of the vehicle, the type tire used, load hauled, and the type of driving the vehicle is intended for. The vehicle manufacture places a tire inflation placard inside the glove box door, inside the fuel fill door or on the drivers side door post (depending on manufacturer). Most manufacturers also list tire pressure in the owners manual.
